pamatiespējas - bilžu meklēšanu, valodas, vēstkopas, utt.

Tieši tā. Rupji runājot LCD monitora aizmugurē ir lampa, kas visu laiku deg,
un melnā krāsa vienkārši nozīmē, ka tās daļiņas, kas ir lampai
priekšā, tiek "sagrozītas" tā, lai šo gaismu nelaistu cauri.
No otras puses LCD monitori parasti patērē mazāk enerģijas kā CRT:
